Visual 3D

Visual3D Standard™ and Visual3D Professional™

Overview

If you already have a motion capture system, or access to motion capture data, Visual3D™ will let you make maximum use of it by removing any sort of modeling or analysis limitations. Visual3D™ is the ultimate in biomechanical analysis for researchers and clinicians. Clinically, the software package is used for performance analysis and movement assessments.

Visual3D™ provides:

- A hardware independent solution
- Advanced Modeling with no marker set limits
- Virtual markers
- Real-time functionality
- Kinematics and Inverse Dynamics (Kinetics)
- Inverse Kinematics/Global Optimization
- Report generator
- Automation support
- Historical audit trail tracking of changes
- Data management
- and much, much more...

Visual3D™ will support any vendor's marker sets, conventional gait, Helen Hayes and variations, custom marker configurations, and minimal marker sets. There are no limits and you can even add virtual markers, functional joints, and other landmarks.

It supports kinematics, inverse dynamics (kinetics), inverse kinematics (global optimization) and even some forward dynamic computations. You can easily add your own computations in Visual3D or with MatLab.

Visual3D software processes synchronized analog data (EMG, force plates, etc.). (Video cameras do not provide the correct real-time outputs.) the data from a motion capture system (or robotic device), and if your system supports real-time data output, Visual3D can even be used to collect data and provide real-time feedback of selected movement activities.

Visual3D's advanced modeling capabilities are unmatched, allowing you to use any sort of marker set (published, proprietary, or custom) and supporting a full 6 degree of freedom segmented analysis. Visual3D lets you find functional joint centers on in real-time and supports digitizing pointers to create virtual markers to increase the accuracy and speed of model building.

All data is managed, indexed, and all changes to data are tracked and recorded to let you validate and audit how raw data is being processed. Collected data can be organized and exported, and the ability to create databases of "normal" results is supported. Visual3D uses the C3D file format as a standard for data input, but can also export C3D formatted data and ASCII point data.

There are no proprietary computations or calculations in Visual3D - public references exist for every calculation performed, unless you create your own. There are numerous filters available for signal processing, and several automatic event recognition methods are supported.

Visual3D also provides a comprehensive report building tool with a few pre-defined report graphs such as temporal distance calculations .
