DC power source metal halide lamp (spare lamp MH-250-7500) is better for high speed image processing because it flickers less as comperate to conventional AC power source light sources.

Metal halide lamps are fixed to oval mirror that are coated to only refect visible and conectors. All you need to do to change the lamp is to detach the spring that fixes the lamp.
Light quantity can be controled freely. (Adjustable fron 0 to 100%)
Light quantity can be controled externally through 8 bit digital input signals from the conector on the back of the device.

Forwording beam is returned to the arc by a spherical mirror and is added to the beams that goes to the oval mirror. inthis way, all beam from the lamp are collected within the fiber.
A hexagonal rod lens is located at the lamp's condensing point so light is maxed within the rod. This reduceds uneven illumination at the fiber's plane of incident.
